Peer Support is a whole-school initiative which partners trained older students with a group of younger students to encourage discussion about issues and problems they may encounter or are already facing. Senior students act as mentors, educating junior students on how to handle peer pressures, providing support and teaching life skills which empower young students. The program gives older students leadership skills and opportunities for self-development, whilst providing a supportive environment for younger students to develop self-confidence, individuality, resilience and tools to help in resisting harmful peer pressure. The Peer Support Teacher Manual allows teachers to directly deliver Peer Support training to their students and implement a Peer Support Program within their school.
